i have to ask how j.r. brown, in good conscience, can say that?

by Hmmm inwhen i was a senior in high school, the principal called me in to her office to ask why i'd missed repeated deadlines to turn in my applications for colleges.
i went to a school for brainiacs, and was above average there--yes, i was a geek among geeks.
the principal asked me if it were a question of finances.

I have to say that I too fell under the JW 'don't go to college' spell. My goal was to pioneer....of course. I was offered a partial scholarship to Duke University and another scholarship to Our Lady of the Lake University. Wellesley College in MA even sent a scout down TWICE to try to convince me to attend their school. If I'd had my way I would have been a happy AGGIE attending Texas A&M Veterinarian School. I now have every desire to constantly kick my own ass! Had I followed my secret dream of going to college (secret b/c as a JW my only dream was supposed to be pioneering, or Bethel, or Gilead) then I would now be a Doctor.

Hey Alan,
Unfortunately someone in my old cong beat you to them. I'm trying to get the recent May KM myself and I can't seem to get a copy from anyone. I work with a bro from my old cong and he won't talk to me or tell me if he'll get me one. My dad flat out refused b/c he is suspicious that I might be an apostate. (Though by dictionary definition I am simply for the fact that I left the bOrg.) Sunday movie, "Living with the Dead"
by Mulan ini thought someone would post about the movie last sunday, (part 2 tonight, tuesday) "living with the dead", starring ted danson.
it is the story of james van pragh, the psychic who sees dead people.
it reminded me a little of "the sixth sense", especially when he was a little boy.. did anyone else see it?

I saw it and I'm looking forward to part two tonight. I hadn't heard that it was based on a real person but how cool it is. I always have had an interest in the paranormal. I still have the heebie-jeebies when I think about the Ouija board though.

Should we fear death?
by sleepy inshould we fear death?.
how do you feel about dying?.
after leaving the witnesses i find i am ever more aware of my own mortality.before i could comfort myself with the idea that i could be ressurected.i think the realisation that death will completly end my life , and that there was nothing afterward , was one of the most difficult things to come to terms with.. generally i don't think about it , but when some happens and i do , the idea , quite frankly scares the hell out of me.. but does death really bring the end to us?.

I don't have a fear of death. I think of it as surgery. I've had my heart stopped twice during surgery. I have no recollection of anything...good or bad. It was just nothingness. I think that my spirit will go on to exist. Besides, it is up to God as to what becomes of us afterward...if there is a resurrection. God knows our hearts. I figure that as long as I'm a good person in this life I will be okay in the next.

I went door to door for the company. My fav was street witnessing and laundry mats...we got a lot of visiting done in the car. It was fun more than the work.
